Today, a man and a woman visited us at TST. The woman had difficulty walking and was leaning on a crutch. They asked for Daniel and then I realized it was about the disease MS. Daniel has had many contacts with MS patients as he has worked a lot with our TST Cooling Vests.

I heard parts of the conversation and when they were about to leave, I had to ask some questions.

Both he and she were very positive and the man said that when he first met the woman, she could not walk at all. Then they found our Cooling Vest and just after short-term use, she made progress and now she can walk. Sometimes she needs a crutch, but sometimes it works without it!

Both shone like suns and heaped praise on the vest and the impact it did. It warmed the heart!

We know that the vest will help many people with MS, but not all. The easiest way for a patient to know, is to try a cool shower.

Now I'm wondering how many people in the world that could be as happy as our visitors? How do you reach them to tell about the relief available?

It is often said that German fairs are gigantic. It was correct about Interschutz! Everything for fire and rescue seemed to be there! Ranging from small fire extinguishers to the largest object that stretched 112 meters towards the sky!

In this huge range of products, it is hard to be seen, but we felt we had a good flow of visitors in our stand. A lot of positive and inquisitive people!

Two persons at the fair also tried our Cooling Vests in real-life situations. A gentleman demonstrated fire extinguishing outdoors - in 30 degree heat - and the guy in the picture belongs to an NGO called @fire. They showed how to rescue people in collapsed buildings and rubble. He was also hot on the job and was very grateful for the Cooling vest!

Thanks to all you nice visitors! We had a fantastic fair, we hope it was the same for you!

Facts: Interschutz 2010 was attended by over 125.000 people. There were 1350 exhibitors from 46 countries and the exhibition floor space was 90.000 square meters.

Interschutz is held every 5 years and is an international exhibition for rescue, fire prevention, disaster relief, safety and security.

On the 4-6/5 we were at Swedish Rescue Training Centre, in Skövde. There was held an event called the Technology Days. About 40 suppliers to the emergency services were invited  to show both materials and techniques. Together with Dräger Safety we organized two workhops. Furthermore, we were on site with staff and information in the exhibition area.

Our first workshop, with Dräger, was about ergonomics and good working conditions at smoke diving. Draeger showed how their breathing equipment works with all technical features and simple, quick operation. Our Per-Arne filled in with facts about how the body is affected by the heat and showed our TST Cooling vest. The visitors asked a lot of questions and they could really touch and try the equipment.

One of the guys who did smoke diving was very enthusiastic about that he was unaware that he had the Cooling vest on!. Well, except for the comfortable cool feeling of course!

The second workshop was about to stop a dangerous ammonia gas cloud, and to measure and indicate a dangerous situation. Our TST SmartHose created a water barrier that effectively stopped and washed down the gas. Draeger showed their smart X-zone 5000 which can be placed in several places and thanks to communication between units, it warns long before people need to come to harm!

The whole exercise was dramatic! Everyone in the area had to have a gas mask ready and emergency personnel were on hand at all times.

Many visitors stayed after the demonstration to talk further about both SmartHose and measurement equipment.

During the 2009 season the F1 driver Nico Rosberg used a TST Cooling West preparing for the hot races in the series. He was very positive and wrote about it in his blog (see previous news).

For this season the team reinforced the Mercedes GP with Michael Schumacher, the seven times world champion! Their efforts are substantial and in this they have also bought more Cooling Vests.

From TST's point of view, we see it as a confirmation that they appreciate the vest, it really contributes to one of the world's best F1 teams!

In the last two races Nico Rosberg drove to two third places in total and he has been in front of his teammate 'Schumi'. He is currently second in the championship and self confidence is on top. There are more great results to come!

 Right now a TST Cooling Vest is on display on the Swedish Embassy in Washington DC. The vest represents Swedish products within research and innovations related to health!

The TST Cooling Vest doesn't need any external energy source. It reloads, over and over again, just by beeing in a environment with less than 24° C/75° F.

It's also highly appreciated for it's great comfort. It has a very smooth way of cooling as it absorbs excessive heat intead of cooling, like with ice.

As seen in the picture, Williams German Formula 1-driver Nico Rosberg used a TST Cooling vest in preparation for the race i Singapore.

Racing with cars is often a very warm experience and the human body suffers from dehydration which reduces the capacity to perform at the maximum. Sitting in a racecar for say 2 hours can be very dangerous, if the driver loose to much body fluids!

It is a fact that if you loose 2% of your weight, in fluids, it will reduce your capacity with more than 10%!

In the race, Nico made a good qualification which put him third on the starting grid and for the first 25 laps of the race he held 2:nd position! Then he made a small error and crossed a white line at the pit exit. This cost him a drive-thru penalty and ruined his day!

On the 3:rd of September it was "Skånsk Brandskyddsdag" in Revinge, at MSB's educational centre (former Swedish Rescue Services Agency

TST showed the mobile sprinkler system TST Smarthose and the TST Cooling Vest.
– Many people were interested in our Smarthose, says Per-Arne Andersson, TST's specialist in this area. I had several interesting discussions. Two things we talked about were old wooden houses and shielding off toxic gases. Thing that are unreplaceable or lethal, makes people engaged! 

TST Cooling Vest has always been interesting for people working with fire fighting.
– It's obvious why, says Daniel Svensson on TST. These people know from own experience how the body is influenced. If you work for long times in hot environments, it is like having a fever and everyone knows that it takes time to recover! Everyone has the right to a good working climate. The Cooling Vest can help providing that!

The Panama registered oil tanker Full City unfortunately was stranded at Langehorn, just off the southern coast of Norway.

Some of the equipment used to stop the oil from spreading is supplied from a Norwegian company specialized in "oil fighting". They are called Aqua Guardian. Over the years we have had very good relations with Aqua Guardian and we have also taken part in developing some of their equipment.

Around the world, there are several research projects concerning the human body and it's function in heat. The higher temperature can either come from the surroundings or from own effort.

At TST we follow this research closely as it has many points of contact with our heat absorbing clothing, for example our Cooling Vests.

Some days ago, there was a conference called ICEE, International Conferences on Environmental Ergonomics. Some of the topics were "reduced performance due to heat" and "what impact sweat has on letting heat away". These things may look banal, but for us who develop extreme products for extreme situations this can be of great value! Think if a fireman were to faint while smoke diving, due to lack of fluids and exhaustion. Or an athlete who have practised years for an olympic event, who is not able to perform at his very best at a specific moment. Then, the banal suddenly becomes important!

It is also possible to think of a scenario with less drama. Today, most people are used to having a sound working environment and we can help creating that. It may be a "micro climate" under a coat, but still. Everybody deserves a healthy working environment, don't they!?

Here is a link to a nice video with the Formula one-driver David Coulthard. His answer to the reporter is very clever, but the best thing is that he’s actually wearing a cooling vest from TST. (He says something else, but it IS our cooling vest.)

F1-drivers are among the best trained athletes there is, and they are also extremely thorough in their preparation before race. The margins are so very, very small that everything counts!  

David, who at the time drove for Red Bull Racing, used the vest before a race in warm climate. As a matter of fact, everyone who needs to extend their time of activity, or doesn’t want headache or illness suffering from a lack of fluid, gains from using a cooling vest.

On the 12-13/5 The Swedish Foundry Association hold their yearly conference in Jönköping. At the same time there are interesting lectures and an exhibition where suppliers to the foundry business can meet customers and show products.

TST Sweden will participate and, among other things, show a newly developed heat protection hood. In order to increase the comfort for the bearer, a cooling fan has been integrated with the hood.

The hood has been developed in collaboration with end users and those who have already tested it have been very positive to the progress of the working environment .

Anna-Carin Ahlquist has competed again. On the 19:th-23:rd of March, Hungarian Open in table-tennis was settled. It was an international tournament which gave ranking to the European Championship. Good performance from Anna-Carin gave her both silver and bronze!

Answering a straight question, if she thinks the TST Cooling Vest is helping her, Anna-Carin says:
– The vest is really great. I've been experimenting quite a lot since the Paralympics, with cooling my body. Both between matches and after I've "completed my days". All to get quicker recovery. It works very well!

Our Mobile Sprinkler System draws attention in many places over the world. Now the western parts of USA, has had a number of demonstrations.

Together with our authorized reseller in the US, Athena GTX, our sales representative Björn has visited different locations showing TST Smart Hose. They have met people from fire departments, airports and chemical industries.

– It's an appreciated product to deminstrate, says Björn. People from all branches immediately realize advantages in using the TST Smart Hose. The easy handling and the possibility to cover or secure areas, without locking personnel, are some strong arguments I've heard.

In December there was a gas leak in the German city Neuwieder. The gas caught fire and set fire to buildings.

The fire brigade used TST Smart Hose to shield off and secure nearby buildings. Thanks to easy handling and flexibility, for example around corners, the Smart Hose was of great benefit. The street between the houses probably was to hot to enter, but a Smart Hose could do the job!

Notice the distance between buildings, the narrow bend round the street corner and the height of the water barrier!

In a city with old buildings and narrow streets, the mobile sprinkler system TST Smart Hose is a valuable tool. It can save both human lives and substantional economical values!

The Norwegian national television NRK1 has noticed the actions taken in the city of Bergen. There they have decided to minimize the consequenses and risks in case of fire or a chemical leak.

We got an e-mail from the Swedish motocros coach Anders Reidemar. Anders sent some feedback regarding our TST Cooling vests.

Three drivers have used vests and they all agree upon it's good function! They feel they can perform better!

In the picture we see Fredrik Karlsson who ended 4:th in the Swedish National Championship in Mx2. The othe drivers who used vests are Mats Nilsson (Swedish Champion in Mx1) and Johan Carlsson (second place in Mx1). 

In TST we are very happy for what the boys have accomplished! You have really done a good job!

TST Sweden co-participated in the "2008 Pan-Exhibition for Wash and Clean". Mr Björn Malmros, who is responsible for export sales at TST, was in Japan to meet customers and resellers.

The exhibition was focused on all kinds of industrial cleaning machines, equipment and systems. An area where TST's collection for UHP Waterjeting Protection is of special interest, but it also touches TST's Chemical Protection equipment. A third cathegory that brought attention was TST's Cooling concept. 

– Asia is a growing market, also for TST, says Mr Malmros, and therefore it's of great importance to visit this part of the world. It was a very good stay, in all aspects.   

Brann 2008 (Fire 2008) is a seminar for people workin in, and with, Rescue Services in Norway. TST Sweden AB has activity worldwide and was invited as exhibitor.

Per-Arne Andersson, TST's man in Norway, got some heavy impression to bring home.

– I have shown and talked very much TST Smart Hose, says Per-Arne. Actually, the Norwegian firefighters have given me some new sales arguments! They told me about a recent fire where they, thanks to Smart Hose, managed to save two newly built houses. Those guys were very positive! For me, being a sales person, it feels good to get such an acknowledgement. What I said about the product is proven to be true. It is also the best marketing we can get. People from Rescue Services, telling real stories, have very high credibility!

Per-Arne continues, I also had an unexpected conversation with people from a zoo. When they explained their situation, I realized there was another working area. They have factors like difficult terrain, old and non-replaceable buildings and that some animals are very rare. We will continue our discussion after the "fair"

TST Sweden AB participated as an exhibitor at the "Skånska fire protection day" which was arranged at Räddningsverkets (Swedish Rescue Services Agency) facilities in Revinge. The event is yearly reoccuring, and attracts a wide audience. It consists both of a product exhibition and seminars.

– We attend at Revinge in order to maintain our good relations with fire brigades and of course to show new products, says Daniel Svensson, in charge of TST sales in Sweden.

Among other things, TST demonstrated their exciting Smart Hose with it's world patented nozzle mounting. The hose can produce a massive water barrier of up to 15 meters height, and it can produce an effective gas-stopping cloud of water.

– The most important areas of use are to stop fires from spreading, to cool off large objects and to shield off for example leaking ammonia, says Daniel. You can save big values by the possibility to spread big volumes of water over a large area, with a minimum of personnel. Other key factors are that it's so easy to lay out and that it works in various terrains.

TST Cooling vest is another product of great interest. It has it's origin in the technique of phase changing material and can enhance the working environment for everyone having a pysically demanding work.

– I talked to one of the instructors here in Revinge and he had a very clear picture of the effects of the vest, says Magnus Krokström from TST. The instructor in Fire protection told me of certain very demanding days, with long exposal to heat. He knew it gave bad consequences. Without the vest he was guaranteed to have a headache and stomache problems, probably caused by loss of fluids. With the vest he didn't get these problems, or very little of it. It was a spontaneous and not very scientific description, but at the same time a description very easy to understand. The recovery is also much quicker and that is highly appreciated!

TST was represented at this gigantic fair in Germany. We had our booth in the same hall as most of the worlds biggest UHP Water Jetting pump manufacturers. UHP means Ultra High Pressure.

There was great interest in our protective clothing! The world of Water Jetting is becoming aware of the risks involved when you work with water jetting at pressures up to 3000 bar! Yes that is correct, 3000 bar! (Compare to a regular car wash, which operate at maybe 150 bar.)

We also had good response on our Cooling Vest and the technique with PCM (Phase Change Material) we use. Everybody realize that you perform better when you feel good!
